Tomb raiders

5 February 1977 Saturday

Had a big breakfast, then Alice went shopping, while Susanna and I washed windows. At about 3:00 we took the Bakerloo Line from Finchley Road to Embankment (Charing Cross). We walked along the Thames to Big Ben then to Westminster Abbey. We spent a good while there, going (for 40p each, Susanna free) into the Royal Chapel and seeing the tomb of Queen Elizabeth, among others, and Poets’ Corner. We returned via tube and had supper.
